MBA for Accounting Professionals

The MBA for Accounting Professionals program addresses the needs of international accounting professionals who want to deepen their knowledge of US accounting and audit practices used in multi-national companies and international non-government organizations (NGOs).[insert page=’apply-button-mobile-next-entry’ display=’content’]

Many of our graduates become fully-licensed Certified Public Accountants (CPA) or Certified Management Accountants (CMA).


How It Works

Students in this track start with an 8-month, full-time academic intensive on campus followed by up to 2 years of credit-bearing, full-time accounting internships with companies in the U.S.

Students engage in ongoing academic coursework to complete their degree requirements. International students can take advantage of training opportunities by means of authorized Curricular Practical Training (CPT).

The entire program is 2.5 years in length.

Our next entries are in August and February.
Our students usually make between $45,000 and $70,000 per year.
In the past two years, 97% of our students have been placed in U.S. companies.
Eight months are spent on our campus and then up to two years are spent in Curricular Practical Training.
We are located in Fairfield, Iowa, five hours from Chicago.

Students can graduate with an MBA in SAP Enterprise Resource Planning for Professionals by completing a minimum of 53 credits. Courses may include:

William Graff

williamgraff-slim

William Graff has extensive experience in teaching internationally. He has been teaching at the University’s partner institution in China and has previously been director of the Maharishi School of Management in Limuru, Kenya. Professor Graff has consulted with the World Bank on finance and accounting systems for the government of Uganda.

Entrance requirements

  • 4-year undergraduate degree in business, accounting or information technology; or equivalent
  • At least two years of full-time paid professional work experience. If you do not have this experience, consider our MBA in Accounting which requires no prior experience.
  • Grade point average of B as shown in the US system as 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or second division rank or higher in India and Nepal.

Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) is optional.

English language verification

English proficiency tests may also be waived for those who have completed Chartered Accountancy examinations from the United Kingdom (becoming ACCA affiliates or members), India, and Nepal because of the extensive study and testing in English that is required for these certifications. MIU will confirm English fluency through direct interviews and correspondence.
